The research was conducted by an external consulting firm, which interviewed 36 individuals with diverse demographic characteristics. It was determined that a significant number of people are willing to learn about and select their vehicle's coverages to save on insurance costs.

Product Definition

Meetings between stakeholders, design team and pricing managers were required to define the product and make it easily understandable for customers.

Coverages were grouped into three categories: vehicle coverages, occupant coverages, and upgrades. This simplification streamlined the insurance offering despite the variety of coverages available.

What I learned

Interdisciplinary collaboration

Fostering effective communication with cross-functional teams, including pricing, business, external research agencies, growth, among others, was the most rewarding aspect of the job. Speaking the language of different stakeholders and building commitment to drive the product forward was essential.

Placing the user at the heart of the design process was pivotal in aligning the team on how to deliver the insurance. Engaging in discussions and refining the proposal were essential steps in aligning efforts and making decisions.
